Academic Registered Behavior Technician

Spaulding Academy & Family Services provides a place of healing and growth, with a focus on the whole child. Our approach is student centered and trauma informed with special emphasis on social and emotional learning through programs such as Choose Love. We have an opening available for an Academic Registered Behavior Technician. The position is year-round, Monday – Friday, 7am to 3pm.

The person in this role will:

  • Assist in the implementation and training of SEL Curriculum, including Choose Love. 
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and training of behavior and/or skills acquisition programs.
  • Demonstrate the ability to appropriately address the needs of students who require more intensive individualized programming.
  • Gather and analyze data on identified behaviors for evaluation and assessment of treatment progress.
  • Participate in the admission/interview file review process as assigned by BCBA.
  • Attend and participate in collaborative IEP and Treatment Planning meetings for students on caseload.
  • Maintain documentation of all contacts with parents/guardians, agency representatives, administration and colleagues regarding student progress and concerns as needed.
  • Completes billing and documentation by the end of each month.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with supervisor to seek clinical direction, report variables that might affect the client in a timely manner and generate objective session notes for service verification.
  • Provide person centered support to student, their families, and outside stakeholders.

Education and Experience: Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician. Preferred Bachelor’s degree. At least 3 years of experience working with a diverse caseload, including individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or Emotional and Behavioral Disorders is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • An understanding of the importance of Social and Emotional Learning and the role it plays in education and human development.
  • Technical competence along with strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Ability to successfully train, coach, and lead team members with various areas of expertise.
  • Must maintain current RBT certification by meeting competencies identified by the Behavioral Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with individuals and groups at all professional levels.
  • Effective and creative collaboration skills.
  • Will participate in supervision in accordance with the ongoing maintenance requirements as identified by the BACB.  
  • Successful completion of PCM training and must obtain certification as a practitioner 2 for continued employment. (Provided by Spaulding.)
